Implementation Structure
The PTK implementation structure includes the Competency Evaluation Board, Course Evaluation Panel and Examination Panel. The Competency Evaluation Board is responsible for formulating policies and approving the PTK syllabus/curriculum while the other two are tasked to appoint those who prepare questions and mark the papers, and checking the quality of the questions.
Since the PTK was implemented 2003, many improvements have been effected. Among others, on 1 January 2005, the appraisal method was diversified and the appraisal period shortened, the marking procedure explained, guide on evaluation provided, the civic course was simplified and integrated with the induction course, the passing grades were scrutinised and the passing mark brought down, the preparation of reference material was streamlined and PTK preparatory programme is encouraged.
