PTK News- (Cuepacs Special Committee Submits Paper Before July 16)

KUALA LUMPUR, July 6 (Bernama) -- The special committee set up by Cuepacs to work out a new mechanism to replace the Competency Level Appraisal (PTK) has prepared a working paper on the matter which will be submitted to the Public Service Department (PSD) soon.Cuepacs general secretary Ahmad Shah Mohd Zin said the paper would be submitted before July 16.
However, he declined to disclose the contents of the paper."In principle, Cuepacs agree on the PTK (but) what we and the majority of the civil servants don't agree on is the examination system that is carried out."But if it is an appraisal system, its okay. We have eight elements of appraisal, why only concentrate on the examination, and failing the exam will mean no promotion and salary movement," he told reporters after handing over two cheques amounting to more than RM32,000 from the Cuepacs Syariah Scheme to two of its members, here today.
He handed over the cheque to Ahmad Padil Hamdan who received RM19,700 compensation for the death of his son in a road accident in March, and Md Nasir Ecsoff who received RM12,546 following the death of his son due to dengue last month. He said that since the scheme was launched in collaboration with Takaful Ikhlas Sdn Bhd, at the end of 2005, more than 90,000 people had participated in the scheme which covered 40 types of critical diseases, disability and death with a subscription of only RM10.
